Skool ships one page background, and it is the same for everyone. The Background feature replaces it with something you pick: thirteen ready-made gradients and mesh blends (Aurora, Sunset, Ocean, Midnight, Candy, Mint and more), a two-colour gradient you mix yourself with a free angle, an image you upload, or a photo that changes every single day.

Four daily-photo sources are available: Bing Daily, Windows Spotlight, Wikimedia Picture of the Day and NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day. Each fetches a fresh image once a day, so the page looks different every morning without you touching a setting. Preview thumbnails load for all sources up front — including the ones you have not selected — so you see the actual picture before choosing.

The feature unlocks with your level in the Skool Extensions community. Level 3 opens the Background itself along with all gradients, your own colours and your own image. The daily-photo sources follow: Bing and Spotlight at level 4, Wikimedia and NASA at level 5. Locked tiles stay visible with a grey wash and a level badge — click the badge and you land on the community leaderboard, where you can see your standing and what the next level takes.

Two sliders control how the page sits on top of the image. Transparent cards sets how much of the background shows through Skool's cards and panels, and Blurred controls how soft the photo behind them gets. Both update live while you drag, and dark mode keeps its own slightly stronger opacity so the balance between the two modes survives a single slider.

On photo backgrounds, readability is handled for you: the text colour is chosen by real WCAG contrast against the image rather than a rough brightness guess, and text sitting directly on the background — native header links, the pin strip footer — gets a fine outline so it stays legible over busy areas. Gradients and mesh blends are left alone; they do not need it.

The picker stays open even when the toggle is off, so you can browse before committing — clicking any tile switches the Background on together with your choice. Your selection syncs across devices via Cloud Sync.

Skool liefert genau einen Seitenhintergrund, und der ist für alle gleich. Das Hintergrund-Feature ersetzt ihn durch das, was du auswählst: dreizehn fertige Verläufe und Mesh-Mischungen (Aurora, Sunset, Ocean, Midnight, Candy, Mint und weitere), einen Zwei-Farben-Verlauf, den du mit frei wählbarem Winkel selbst mischst, ein Bild, das du hochlädst, oder ein Foto, das jeden Tag wechselt.

Vier Tagesbild-Quellen stehen bereit: Bing Daily, Windows Spotlight, Wikimedia Bild des Tages und NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day. Jede holt einmal täglich ein frisches Bild — die Seite sieht jeden Morgen anders aus, ohne dass du eine Einstellung anfasst. Die Vorschaubilder laden für alle Quellen im Voraus, auch für die nicht gewählten, damit du das echte Bild siehst, bevor du dich entscheidest.

Freigeschaltet wird das Feature über dein Level in der Skool-Extensions-Community. Level 3 öffnet den Hintergrund selbst samt aller Verläufe, eigener Farben und eigenem Bild. Die Tagesbild-Quellen folgen: Bing und Spotlight ab Level 4, Wikimedia und NASA ab Level 5. Gesperrte Kacheln bleiben sichtbar — grau hinterlegt und mit einer Level-Plakette. Ein Klick auf die Plakette bringt dich zum Community-Leaderboard, wo du deinen Stand und den Weg zur nächsten Stufe siehst.

Zwei Regler bestimmen, wie die Seite auf dem Bild sitzt. „Transparente Karten" legt fest, wie viel Hintergrund durch Skools Karten und Panels scheint, „Weichgezeichnet" regelt, wie weich das Foto dahinter wird. Beide ziehen live beim Schieben mit, und der Dark Mode behält seine etwas kräftigere Deckkraft — das gewachsene Verhältnis beider Modi überlebt den gemeinsamen Regler.

Auf Foto-Hintergründen wird die Lesbarkeit für dich geregelt: Die Textfarbe wird nach echtem WCAG-Kontrast zum Bild gewählt statt nach grober Helligkeitsschätzung, und Text, der direkt auf dem Hintergrund liegt — native Header-Links, die Fußzeile der Pin-Leiste — bekommt eine feine Kontur und bleibt so auch über unruhigen Stellen lesbar. Verläufe und Mesh-Mischungen bleiben unangetastet; sie brauchen das nicht.

Die Bilderauswahl bleibt auch bei ausgeschaltetem Schalter offen, damit du erst stöbern und dann entscheiden kannst — ein Klick auf eine Kachel schaltet den Hintergrund gleich mit ein. Deine Auswahl wird per Cloud-Sync geräteübergreifend übernommen.
