Following up with Apps in QuickBase:
Some companies communicate better than others, but I still have to ask for updates. YOU have to stay on top of them.
I give them 24-48 hrs. after I submit the app, then I start asking if releases are in, if contacts have been made etc. If they don’t answer my first query, I contact the driver to see if the company processor has spoken to them, and then I ask in QB every day till they answer me.
To clarify your drivers can call the company, not you.
But if a driver was submitted Friday night at 9 pm. You need to wait at least 24 business hours, meaning weekend days don’t count against the 24 hours to get or ask for an update.
Be nice, ask the recruiter by name, but be persistent. We don’t want to be a problem, but we do want to know what’s going on with our apps.
Examples of asking for an update if there hasn't been any activity after 24 hours of submission or general following up if there has been.
• Did you receive the application?
• The driver signed releases and would like to start next week. Do you need anything else?
• Could I get an update on this driver? They called you back and left a message, and are available now for a call if you are.
We do not need to note: Notes that do not help move an application forward, like a "thank you," as it will clog up the processors with unnecessary emails.
This keeps the app processing more quickly and keeps activity on the app, which renews the number of days your apps are protected.
For USX: Throughout each day, you must update your drivers in QUICKBASE with the information FROM the USX spreadsheet notes. You still ask for updates in QB.
