ChatGPT's New Agents Are Here!! (For some of us!)

If you're not paying attention, you'll miss one of the biggest mindset shifts in how we use AI.

GPT Agents just entered the chat.

These are not just bots or tools, they’re customizable, semi-autonomous digital team members that you can now create inside ChatGPT (Pro+ users).

They remember tasks. They can follow instructions over time. They act more like collaborators than assistants. This is a big mindset shift from a tool to a teammate.

Up until now, we’ve used ChatGPT for quick prompts or static one-off tasks.

With Agents, we move into a new mode: delegation and continuity.

Think like this:

“Research this market and give me a weekly summary.”

“Write my newsletter every Friday using this format.”

“Act as my podcast producer — plan, outline, and suggest interview hooks.”

“Be my accountability coach. Check in and track progress.”

The possibilities are vast, and now practical.

Here's how to Use Agents (for Pro Users):

1. Open ChatGPT → Click “Explore GPTs”

2. Look for Agents or click “Create” to build your own

3. Add:

A name

Custom instructions

What tools it can use (e.g., web browsing, DALL·E, code interpreter, files)

Memory and goals

4. Save it — and now it lives in your sidebar like a mini-employee

This is currently available for ChatGPT Pro users (GPT-4o). Rolling out globally over July/August, if you don’t see it yet, you will soon.

You’ll see a tab in your left sidebar in ChatGPT called “My Workspace” or “Projects” (depending on region/account). Inside there, you'll find the new “Agents” tab (sometimes listed under "Custom GPTs").

From there, you can:

Browse templates

Create an agent from scratch

Manage agent memory, goals, tools, and identity

❌ If you DON'T see it yet:

You're part of the majority still waiting for the rollout (even on Pro) OpenAI is rolling it out gradually across July/August 2025, starting with US and enterprise users, and expanding worldwide. You may also need to ensure you’re logged into GPT-4o and not GPT-3.5.

While you wait, you can prepare your agent blueprint. Here’s a quick template:

Name: “AI Content Strategist”

Role Description: “You help me plan, batch, and optimize content for my brand across Instagram, LinkedIn, and my email list. You know my tone is empowering, intelligent, and honest.”

Tools you’ll use: Web browsing, file uploads, image generation

Tasks: Weekly content planner, post drafts, analytics summaries

Once Agents go live for you, just plug this into the builder and go!

This is the start of something bigger than just faster answers. It’s a shift toward AI as an operational layer, like having a co-pilot that builds with you, learns with you, and evolves with you.
