Hey guys! how are you doing? I thought I'd share a thought that crossed my mind today:
Few years ago, I used to blank out in conversations way more than I wanted to admit. Someone asks me something in a meeting or an interview and my brain literally disappeared. Then I’d either start rambling to cover it up or I’d go quiet and feel stupid after, like I just handed my power away for free.
So I started using one sentence that buys me a second without making me look shaky:
“Give me a second — I want to answer this clearly.”
That’s it. It slows the whole moment down and it brings me back into my body, and I actually get to respond like myself instead of reacting from panic.
❓Where do you blank the most—interviews, meetings, confrontation, presenting, or dealing with pushy people?
