💭 I stopped overthinking what to say by doing this one small thing
I used to replay conversations in my head before they even happened. I was trying to “pre-write” the perfect version of me, to slay the "performance" that conversations were for me at that time - nothing but performance... And then when it was time to speak? ofc my mind went blank:D.
and now when I look back, what helped me in the beginning wasn’t a big confidence hack.
It was this:
👉 I started giving myself permission to say one honest sentence first.
Examples I actually used:
  • “Give me a second, I’m thinking”
  • “That's a great point/question, let me think about it”
  • “Let me say it simply”
It's so cool to do this because all of sudden you feel like some pressure just went away, as if you gave yourself a permission to slow down and not perform anymore. Because finally I wasn’t trying to sound perfect anymore, but rather tried to be authentic.
I'm curious! When you don’t speak up, do you just feel awkward… or do you end up regretting it for hours/days and thinking “why do I always do this?”
