The Poor INDIE Author’s Struggle
by Kevn M Hall
By moonlight glow and coffee’s might,
I typed and tapped through every night.
Each sentence carved with hope and grit,
A quiet plea—I just could not quit.
The book now done, the cover right,
With edits made, it all looked tight.
Clicked “Publish” with a hopeful plea—
To KDP, Ingram, and D2D.
No ad campaign, no marketing ready,
Then launch-day came with no confetti.
No budget left, no money to spare.
Will I ever sell books – will anyone care?
Each passing day with barely a sale,
Few revenue checks coming in the mail.
Our struggle to sell without having a plan
Is no fun at all, and that’s the facts man!
