Holidays are tough for owners
One of my business owner friends posted this today. It’s so true! This is my first holiday season as a business owner. I feel this completely.
“The holidays are supposed to be magical, and in so many ways they are. I truly love this time with my kids. The slower mornings, the traditions, the simple moments that remind me why any of this work matters in the first place. But if I’m being honest, as a business owner this season is also one of the hardest. Revenue slows down. Opportunities go quiet until the new year. Expenses don’t stop. Payroll, bonuses, year-end bills, planning for what’s next, it all hits at once. While the world pauses and enjoys the magic of the holidays, entrepreneurialism doesn’t get an off season. Here’s what I’m learning: real leadership is holding both at the same time. Showing up fully for your family while still carrying the responsibility for your team and your business. It’s not easy. But it’s worth it.If you’re feeling that tension too as a leader and as an entrepreneur, you’re not alone.”
