Just got home this evening after two days of relatives celebrating the 85th Tontz family reunion. Saturday we arrived at the host family’s house who were taking care of 4 Swiss relatives. Roger and I have had some spirited conversations back in Switzerland in the past and we continued those with wine and smiles. Equivalent to PBS, Roger works for the Switzerland public TV version and is an international correspondent living in Manhattan. He ended up doing an interview of me and other family members. His mother Kathe is the keeper of the family lineage. There were over 100 people at today’s event and my personal trainer is not going to be happy with my consumption level of delicious food. Yesterday’s outfit I added a tweed sport coat and wore the same tweed dressed down with blue Levi’s and a plaid Orvis shirt today. Also wore the same Indiana Jones Alden boots and my Seiko Model 5 over the past couple of days. Wore my Darn Tough wool socks with fish and had several fly fishing conversations with relatives. My 88 year old mother has attended every reunion as has her 92 year old sister. Her 84 year sister is one behind. It was a special day with family and great to rekindle relationships with my Swiss relatives whom I’ve been visiting on trips to Europe starting over 36 years ago.
