My "process" in Picking an Outfit. What's yours?

Standing in my closet last night (like I do most nights 😎) staring into the abyss trying to decide what to wear the next day.

I thought I would share what I typically do and see if anyone else does it differently.

Today I knew I would be in my office for the majority of the day, which is business casual for me.But I knew I was taking my wife out to dinner this evening and would want to either add a Sport Jacket over the sweater (weather permitting) of ditch the sweater and just add the jacket.

I started with the Jacket and built my way from there.

When it came to my shoes, I try not to wear the same shoes 2 days in a row and also have to balance what I wear based on what's in my shining rotation as well, so I settled on these AE Burgundy Brogues.

I wanted to play to the Navy stripe in the sport jacket so that let me to the Navy Corduroy's and the Navy OTC shadow socks. I felt a solid white dress shirt would be a bit stark, so I chose this light blue. Not wanting to lose the Brown & Blue combo through out the day, I chose this camel sweater for during the day. I think it pairs well with the sport jacket as well if I need it temperature wise tonight, but if not that is ok too. The Navy pocket square with the lighter blue edge felt like a great addition to play off the socks, but not be way too interesting to compete with the sport jacket.

The watch didn't require any thought as I was wearing it when I picked out everything else and when I lined it all up I said "Oh this will be the watch". there was nothing else in my collection that jumped out to wear.

My scent, was a new scent my wife bought for us both and the warmth of woody/amber and spice just felt like it blended into a very nice sport not just for the office, but for a nice quiet dinner with my favorite human tonight just the 2 of us.
