I'm not sure what I'm looking for...need a bit of help.

I am trying to elevate my pants from causal to, well, elevated causal. I am looking for something in between dress slacks and jeans. I don't want something as restrictive and heavy as jeans, yet I don't want something as dressy as suit pants / dress slacks. I'm trying to find something that can be worn everyday, in a causal or dress-causal setting. A pant that can dress up a t-shirt, allows for ease of movement and doesn't dirty easily. I have seen all these "performance" pants, but they all feel like windbreaker material and that's not what I'm going for, nor am I looking for simply khaki's.

This is why I say, I'm not sure what I'm looking for, only from what I am trying to stay away. Does any one have any suggestions? Have you run into this yourself? Feel free to ask more questions if needed. Thanks, appreciate all of you!
