Lesson 1 Exercise: Shifting Lack
This exercise is a short way to catch “lack language” while it is happening. It replaces it with one finished present statement. Lack language keeps attention on what is missing. The body often follows that focus with tension, urgency, or collapse. A finished statement gives the body a different instruction. It creates a cleaner place to stand. Examples Lack line: “I need more time.” Shift line: “This is enough.” Lack line: “I hope this works out." Shift line: “This works out.” Practice Set a two-minute timer. -Write one lack sentence that has been repeating today. -Cross out one lack word in that sentence. -Rewrite the sentence as one present, finished line that begins with “I am” or “This is.” -Say the finished line once. -Take one small action that matches the finished line, under two minutes (send the message, open the document, drink water, pay one small bill, stand up and breathe). Reflection question: Which word shows up most often in lack sentences

Any questions about the material? Be specific if possible. If you are posting here, it implies you read the material and went through the classroom first. This material can get confusing. Its ok to not get it. We are learning to think differently, and this can cause us to shit out of growth mode, so it make it harder for us to assimilate new information sometimes.
