Walking Maia dog this morning was lovely. The sun was shining & there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. It had been chilly overnight so the dew on the hill was lit up by the sunlight, not just white/silver like usual, there was also beautiful gold tinges to it. Most of the trees were leafless (maybe Paul took them all home to count?) but the branches looked stunning against the bright blue backdrop. All was very peaceful. We walked down a grassy back alley when I suddenly had a sharp pain in my right foot. On inspection a thick 1” thorn had gone straight thru the sole of my trainer. Ouch! (Something pierced my soul, huh). Luckily there was a wall to lean on so I could remove the bugger. Odd how that small twig & nasty thorn got down that alley as it belonged to a blackthorn (sloe) bush, of which there were non growing in the area.
