Purrrposely Impurrrfect
I'm not perfect. And that's a good thing.
You don't have to be perfect to experience natural, sustainable weight loss. Being too perfect can actually be an obstacle.
I eat mindlessly sometimes, even though I know that I do better and digest better when I eat with awareness. But today, I choose to have cabbage, cauliflower, or maybe some dark chocolate in a mindless way instead of huge bags of chips or a tub of ice cream like I did before.
Another difference between the me today that's figured out sustainable weight loss and the me of yesterday that struggled with being able to lose the weight and keep it off is that I don't let being imperfect derail me from my wellness goals and aspirations.
If I overeat one day or break my fast early for whatever reason, I don't stress it, and I don't let it derail me from my health goals for a week/month/year, like I used to in the past.
I send myself love and compassion, know that I did my best in that moment, and keep going, knowing that good health and wellness is more of a marathon rather than a sprint.
When we are too perfect, a part of us starts to get resentful and plot ways to rebel against boundaries that feel too rigid, at least that's my experience.
When I move towards my health goals and aspirations with some flexibility, I allow myself the freedom to respond to life as it is, and I build trust with myself, knowing that I can get back up and keep going even if I stumble and fall sometimes.
Have you ever experienced trying to be too perfect as an obstacle to reaching your goals? In what way can you experiment with being less perfect today? Share in the comments.

I've struggled with perfectionism in the past and know it can derail me!
I'm perfectly imperfect, and I embrace both my perfect and imperfect parts, thank you very much!
I'm way too comfortable with imperfection, and maybe need some better boundaries!
I'm not sure, I'll have to think about it more
