I never thought I'd find those 5 words drifting through my consciousness like I did this morning. You see, I've never had a problem with eating enough. If anything, I've had problems with eating more than enough! I could eat for hours and hours. To be fair, I can still eat for hours and hours, but now it's cauliflower and carrots instead of ice cream and chips and chocolate.
My intermittent fasting strategies have worked so well that I've released almost 100 pounds since August of 2024 (85 to be exact). I'm so grateful for that. I feel more fit and healthy and vibrant in this new-to-me body.
But I also want to build muscle, I want to have a more toned body. Fasting and building muscle don't always go super well together, not without a lot of mindfulness towards your fasting approach. Even though 7 months ago, I needed to fast more and eat less in order to heal my body, increase my insulin sensitivity, and be able to lose the extra weight I had gained during COVID, my situation today is completely different. To build more muscle, I may actually need to fast less and eat more.
