Engagement Clause

How long should a staffing firm’s engagement clause last? If a candidate was first submitted to a client in 2021, candidate decided to accept other employment, now candidate is extended a new offer from another staffing firm’s submittal……does the original firm still has finders rights for that candidate? Or does the new agency have rights? Note: There’s no expiration date listed in the Engagement clause from the original contract.
