10/28 -10 AM EST - Live with Aaron Wellman, Phd
If you can't make to IG (@300hardway), toss questions in this thread and we'll try to get to as many as we can. We'll post the vid in the replay! For example, I have a Death Race-related question I'd like his take on: - Sleep deprivation is part of the deal. Can you train for it, or do you just manage it? Aaron Wellman, PhD, is a Project 300 advisor and has run weight rooms for 15 years at Michigan, Notre Dame, Indiana, and in the NFL, where he built performance programs for pro athletes. He holds a PhD, the NSCA CSCS and ISSA Sport Nutrition certification.

WEEKLY CHALLENGE: REFRESH 🔋
70 minutes of burpees last week. Your legs remember. This week we let them catch up and give your head some attention too. Keep your regular training. Refresh sits on top of it. Every day, 3 boxes: 🌙 1. Sleep Same bedtime all week. Phone across the room 30 minutes before. 🚶 2. Move easy 20 minutes on top of your normal training. Walk, bike, row, stair climber, yoga, Pilates, stretching, or your usual mobility routine. Keep it easy enough to hold a conversation. Training days count if you add the 20 minutes. Still beat up from burpee week? Take your regular sessions down a gear too. 🧠 3. Reset 10 minutes for your head, no scrolling. Pick one: a walk outside, a journal, a book, or a call to someone you've been dodging. Your walk can cover both boxes: walk for 20 minutes and spend at least 10 of them without scrolling. ✅ Your morning check-in Reply to this post with 2 numbers: * Boxes yesterday: out of 3 * Energy this morning: 1 to 10 Example: 3/3 · Energy 7/10 Keep it all in this thread. First check-in is tomorrow. 18 of 21 is the target. 📸 📸 📸 Want to share a moment from your week? Drop a pic/vid in the thread. The view. The book. Your porch. Your mobility or stretching routine. Your training. A note you wrote yourself. Totally optional. Posting on IG too? Tag @300hardway @frank_sepe and @zraz. We'll ask you directly before resharing anything on Project 300's socials.
Recovery Challenge Check In ✅🧾
sleep has been weak spot all year and it’s been worse as of late due to work, my girls’ activity schedules, and other issues. I challenged myself to pull my bed time back 30m each of the first 3 nights and stop screens 30m before that. Also keeping the night yoga/mobility routine ☯️ ✅ Monday night: 77 sleep score. Not great, but 6-8pts above my avg 🫩 I’ve felt a little off the last week or so and Oura agrees. Hoping the sleep routine helps and I’m not coming down with a 🪲

Feet in TRX straps felt easy…WHAT??? 😳
Orangetheory very rarely makes us do core work with our feet in the TRX straps. I think a lot of members complained. BUT they brought it out for Hell Week! We had 20x high plank alternating knee drives with feet in the TRX straps (and you could chose to do them on the floor if straps weren’t your thing). Well…I decided to live on the wild side and go for the TRX remembering well how much I struggled the last time I tried this (which was a LONG time ago). I fully expected to practically fall on my face BUT I was surprisingly stable and comfortable!!! I credit all the Project 300 core work for this. So much stronger! 💪🙌 And I 💯 did not start here y’all. This was months and months of consistency in the gym. Now for some stretching because over 100 froggers tonight was a special kind of torture after a mountain race weekend in Virginia!
LATE CHECK IN
My family was on vacation to run the Virginia massanutten race! I missed Friday's check in due to this, but last week went decent. Obviously with travel comes some healthy food choice struggles... but I got lots of activity last week, and even placed second in the super's 30-34 age group category! Now time to gear up for fenway in 2 weeks. Lots of zone 2 in the works and 3x strength training per week. I am gonna focus more on food!
