step-by-step methodology to transform negative belief systems into positive ones through visualisation.
your desired reality and mental movies
in order to change anything in life, first we must realise that there is in fact something to change. you can’t change something that you didn’t know could be changed. and as you now know — your belief systems can absolutely be changed. this is the exact methodology i use and abuse on a daily basis to work on myself constantly.
it all begins with You—2.0 (Taylan 2.0).
you must have a very clear image and idea of who you are currently, and who your ideal self is.
version 1.0 → version 2.0
if you haven’t already, go ahead and create a written document and begin to create your ideal character. name specific belief systems or identity points that you want to change about yourself. think about specific numerical goals, like money, weight, etc.
then, the next most important thing is to create a mental movie — an imagine experience that you visualise in your head, as if it is happening right now.
how would i feel in my desired reality, right now?
that is the most important and fundamental question to be asking yourself every single fucking second. and once you ask that, that’s exactly how you need to act, behave and think, right now.
this is foundational. please do not ever forget this. do this throughout the day.
on the other hand, while we do this specific visualisation technique, it’s also very important to visualise your desired reality as if it is happening right fucking now.
not tomorrow. not in 3 months. not “soon”.
right now. in this moment. please, this is foundational.
creating a mental movie of your desired reality
you will use a visualisation technique during a deep meditative state to imagine the positive outcome that you desire — whether it be your desired self, a desired reality, a specific goal/outcome or simply a specific belief/identity you want to change about yourself.
for example:
- i want to stop judging people → i want to be loving, understanding and non-judgemental
- i want to go from making $2000/mo → to making $4000/mo
- i want to go from living in x country → to living in y country
- i want to build my bad physique → and become jacked
- i want to stop overthinking with women → to becoming my most confident, authentic and in-flow version
whatever your specific desire is make it clear, and the next most important thing is to make it believable to your intuition. don’t just visualise making $1mil, having a lamborghini or becoming a ceo — make the specific outcome that you desire believable, relative to where you are currently.
emotion and conviction are necessary
next, and this is very important — emotion is the key. emotion. emotion. you need to feel. you cannot just visualise or do self-affirmations and expect them to work, without enough emotional intensity and conviction.
conviction is knowing. you don’t believe or have faith that the light is going to turn on when you flick the switch, you know it’s going to turn on. so you need a mental image you know you can achieve. it is specifically the degree of emotional conviction you have that makes these techniques work and actually be accepted by the subconscious.
remember, the subconscious cannot tell the difference between what is real, and what is imaginary. if your imagination feels real to you subconscious, it will simply go ahead and accept it as true, and begin to release the emotions, chemicals, hormones, thoughts, etc. associated with what you’re imagining.
essentially, through this technique, you condition the subconscious mind to become familiar with a new reality — your desired reality. and as you keep repeating this, your mind begins to produce the emotions, thoughts, desires, behaviours, nudges and guidance associated with your desired reality. what you believe deep inside literally begins to show it self through your actions, thoughts, awareness and reactions to experiences.
what you will notice as you practise this
you’ll find yourself becoming less needy for results or change. you’ll begin feeling more confident and you won’t want to escape from your reality as much.
you’ll notice you’re getting new ideas, nudges and thoughts about your desired reality that make you take action to achieve it. you’ll notice more opportunities and “coincidences” in life which prove to you that your desired reality is taking place.
it’s very important to note also; that you must begin to feel like you are already in your desired reality right now, before the world proves it to you!
once you’ve understood these foundations, let’s begin. now you have a very clear idea of what your desired outcome is, and you have prepared an image — a mental movie that lasts a few seconds playing out you achieving your desired outcome right in this moment.
ensure that mental movie is as real, descriptive and believable as possible. i also highly recommend placing somebody that you love and care for in your mental movie, and imagine them congratulating you and being incredibly happy that you’ve achieved your desired reality.
this technique essentially fools the brain into thinking you’ve just achieved your desired outcome (because why would you be grateful for something you have — it must mean you already have it).
beginning your visualisation practise
getting into a state of deep relaxation
- find a comfortable location and get into a comfortable position, and close your eyes as you begin this practise
- get into a state of deep relaxation by beginning to meditate — as simple as just noticing how your breath feels on your nose and paying attention to that, nothing else
- every time your focus changes, simply bring your attention back to your breath
- do this for a few minutes until you begin to feel relaxed and calm
- as you maintain meditation: begin to visualise and imagine your desired reality happening right now. do not force these images — be effortless with your visualisation.
- keep visualising and associating with the imagined experience until you begin to feel changes in your emotions, energy, state and mindset
- feel all the emotions arising from this completely for as long as you’d like, and keep bringing your focus back to the mental movie if you lose awareness
as simple as that, you’ve now taken the first step to completely rewiring your mind to a new desired self — a new reality which now feels even more possible for your subconscious mind
you’ll know this practise worked if your energy and emotions have changed for the better.
dealing with traumatic thoughts/reminders during your practise
sometimes, during your practise, you might face internal emotional resistance when you imagine your desired reality. you might notice your subconscious mind doesn’t really believe in what you’re imagining.
you might begin to feel anxiety, imposter syndrome, guilt or even discomfort when you bring up this image in your mind. again, this is because your subconscious mind doesn’t truly believe or feel confident in this experience yet — it doesn’t feel familiar or natural to you.
in this point (very important): we can begin to transmute these negative reactions, destroy them completely and then replace them with positive ones.
- as your still doing your visualisation in a meditative state, notice exactly where those emotions are coming from (the body part)
- allow yourself to completely feel those emotions — don’t fight it, don’t tense, just let go completely and feel those emotions
- sometimes negative mental movies might arise — if they do, don’t fight the image and don’t try to not think about it — just let it pass
- after a few seconds or minute, you’ll notice they’re completely gone.
that simple. you’ve just completely gotten rid of a negative belief system. you’ll know this process worked when your negative emotions completely stop after a few seconds to minutes.
now continue again with your visualisation and notice you don’t feel those same negative emotions
- go ahead and make the visualisation as real as possible, like it’s happening right now
- then like we did with the negative emotions, allow yourself to completely feel the positive emotions
- during this time you can also repeat positive self-affirmations and they will be easily accepted by the subconscious mind
again, you’ll know this exercise worked through how you feel during and after your practise.
