Land Development
We are getting ready to plant 100 onions! We are also going to plant potatoes in this area. There are some fruit trees established in this area, but the pine tree roots were horrible. Tomorrow... we begin the ground breaking in the third picture for the corn, pumpkin, and green beans. We purchased a paw paw tree to plant in this area also.

Electricity Update
We finally got a pass from the electric company. She was speaking in circles for months and finally someone stepped in and told her enough. We won! We get scheduled this week for three poles and wired in from street into the property.
Lime Render
Continuing on from my previous post on strawbale construction. The next stage is adding the lime render. Three coats will be needed in all, with damp hessian to cover and slow down the drying time between coats. This small area took six novices four hours to complete, and we were handsomely rewarded with a feast of fresh produce from the growing beds for our hard work. An ideal day of community building.

Strawbale Construction.
Sunday project at a local community garden demonstrating what a group of novice strawbalers can achive in a day. The groundwork had been pre prepared, and none of the bales needed to be load bearing as it is wrapping around an existing wooden framework that supports a very lightweight roof . A major problem arose when the bales arrived smaller than the specifications throwing all the drawing plans out and needing several of the bales to be recut. Next step lime render.
