I just finished the background of the snacking Kingfisher. I got a little extravagant with the green. And then I got a little extravagant with the blending. I decided to make long sweeping brushes with the blending brush to give it movement and also to tone down the green a little. T he only downside was I guess I was treating my brush a little harshly and so there are several bristles in various parts of my painting. I tried getting them out and then I saw that that was going to do more damage than just leaving them in there! I am pleased with it because after doing one painting, I know how much better it looks as you go along. And I'm interested to see what it looks like to me posted here. That seems to give some distance and I think my evaluation then is more accurate. Hopefully the orange and bluish teal of the Kingfisher will pop against the background even if I do have quite a bit of green there.
