Soโ€ฆ..
I went to plug my acoustic/electric guitar into the amp cord andโ€ฆ.. the hookup piece fell inside the guitarโ€ฆ Anyone have an idea to fix it WITHOUT taking the strings off?
Drop C
Any recommendations for the best string gage for drop C on a floating Floyd Rose?
Yamaha in need ๐ŸŽธ
My nephew brought a Yamaha RBX170EW over and asked if I could get it to playing condition. My sister was over the previous night and told me about it and I knew it was going to be a full restoration project when she told me who gave it to him. She only mentioned that it had no strings but failed to tell me about the rust. But he really seemed like he wanted to play bass, he has played a viola for about 6 years now though middle and high school. So I think heโ€™s ready and at least the body and neck are good.

Budget Les Paul Upgrade
First Les Paul-style upgrade project in the books. Started with a Grote LP and decided to take it a step further with some functional upgrades. Swapped in Epiphone pickups, full-size Epiphone pots, and upgraded the bridge and tailpiece. Also installed Guyker locking tuners and went with gold hardware across the board to clean up the overall look. Biggest difference is definitely in the electronics. The full-size pots and pickup swap made the response feel a lot more open and usable compared to the stock setup. It already played decent out of the box, but now it feels much more dialed in. Also threw on a fresh set of Elixir 10โ€“46 strings from OmniGuitars. First time using them on one of my builds, so Iโ€™ll be putting together a proper review after some playing time. Still finishing up a couple small details, but overall Iโ€™m really happy with how this one turned out.

Pedals
Picked up the MXR Prime Distortion pedal and totally happy with it. I was not at all fond of my Maestro Invader. I also picked up a 1999 Epiphone Special II,,,,now I know it was supposed to be,,back then, a beginner's guitar,,,but dang it is heavy. I immediately changed the machine heads, put a nice pair of Seymour double pups in it, spent a full night setting it up, letting it sit and then the next night doing a final setup,,,WHAMMMMO!!! Now it is an extremely nice sounding guitar,,,truly. Funny thing,,,this one still has the 1999 Epiphone inspections/ setup sticker on the back of the head stock......not a collectors' item by any means, not worth much money by any means,,,,but this baby sounds killer now and plays like butter......
