Repair Advice

I did a dumb and the neck of my nice, new Martin acoustic hit the music stand I was carrying. Now there is a small but annoyingly noticeable dent on the neck by the first fret. I'm sure it will steam out, but I don't want to mess up the finish. Any advice from people who have dealt with this before?
