Connect On-Prem Data Sources to Fabric via ExpressRoute

Hi everyone! I’m learning about Fabric networking still and I’m wondering if someone may be able to point me in the direction of any documentation on utilizing ExpressRoute to transfer data from on-premises Data Sources into Fabric. So far, I understand that the on-premises data gateway can be used over the Internet, but if I can incorporate the ER, that would be awesome.
