A lesser-known idea that emerged from the sciences states that it’s actually impossible to ‘die’ in the ordinary sense, since consciousness from the first-person perspective can’t be extinguished so to speak. It is an extremely interesting theory. The main thing that makes me doubt it, however, is thinking about old-age, and how that would work if consciousness residing in the one body is ever-lasting. Like would an old and sick person in the hospital just constantly be kept alive as their body deteriorate more and more to the point where they’re barely conscious yet marginally so? Scary thought, but it’s certainly an interesting — yet fringe — idea that provokes thought even if it’s not true.

The Law of Attraction is true, but the way most people understand and implement it is faulty in my opinion. The way a lot of people look at manifestation is they want something (usually material in nature e.g a car or a girlfriend etc.) and then they try to focus their thoughts on this ‘object’ that is desired. This may work, and the object of desire may be attained, but because of human nature, we always want more and what we don’t have, so inevitably, unless the person has attained permanent peace, this object will not bring satisfaction for long, and another object of desire will emerge in that person’s mind that they will feel somewhat obliged to manifest. I view Law of Attraction in terms of feeling or state of consciousness. Ultimately I want to feel good or be happy, as I think everyone does, so I cut out the middle-man, so to speak, and have my ‘object of desire’ a state of peaceful consciousness, or simply feeling good. Because if you manifest a good feeling, and continue to do so, eventually it will snowball into more and more good feelings until you can barely believe how good you feel.

psilocybin mushrooms, lsd and weed are all great at unshackling one’s mind from thought loops and conventional, boxed-in thinking. psilocybin and lsd especially have a very low risk profile if done responsibly with appropriate set and setting. set refers to the mindstate of the individual (e.g happy, sad, anxious), and setting refers to the environment and people surrounding the individual partaking. If one is in a good mood, and good place in life where they’re feeling satisfied and fulfilled, and in a comfortable environment (solo or around people that they’re completely comfortable around), then chances are a psychedelic trip will clear out some mental cobwebs, give fresh and valid insights, and enable one to look at the world, life and relationships with fresh eyes. The caveat is this: if one is in a very bad, anxiety-ridden and overall ‘negative’ mindstate, it is very much Russian roulette. It could be amazing, but it could also make things worse — much worse. Also, it should be stated that weed is by no means a completely safe substance for everyone to be using indiscriminately. Weed reveals a lot of your shadow self (look into Carl Jung for more info on the shadow), and this can be both good and bad depending on how one integrates this. Unfortunately, some people have very poor integration skills, which is why weed can be destabilizing for a good amount of people.

God exists, yet he (will refer to God as he/him for ease of communication) is very different from standard conceptions of God in organized religion and even in many ‘spiritual’ circles. The way God is often conceived is some sort of humanoid entity somewhere in a dimension seperate from us aka heaven, where he is seperate from his creation in some important way. This couldn’t be further from the truth. God is as intimate as your breath, as intimate as your heartbeat. It even says in the Bible — which in no way is the definitive tome on God, everyone religion has some important truths and also some falsities — that once you’re ‘born again’ God will reside within the temple of your own heart. So the verse that says that paints a very different picture than the conception of God as some sort of Celestial Judge separate from us. It invites us to consider that God and his spirit can be invited into our body, mind and soul in a very tangible and experiential way. The non-dual traditions, of which there are a fair few, talk about how nothing is separate from anything else, hence non or no, and dual or two. So non-dual literally can be translated as not-two. So if this conception of God is accurate, it means, in some sense, we are God and God is us. I have my slight disagreements with the most intense form of non-duality that states we are literally identical with the omni-God, since I don’t know about you, but I can’t create even a leaf out of scratch, let alone the whole universe and multiverse (more on that in another post). My belief is that, as it says in the Bible, we are both separate and one with the creator at the same time. It says in the Bible that we are created in God’s image, but we are not God proper. We are co-creators, and the easiest way to get closer to God in my opinion is to create rather than consume. And mindless consumption, as i will explore in a later post, is an absolute plague on the collective consciousness of this earth lanet right now, and it will seemingly only get worse.
