The Beautiful Illusion of Self
Friends, Here’s a short recording of our talk tonight. I hope it’s helpful for some of you. In this talk we explore the idea of self, what is it, where it came from, the notion of getting rid of it, and more importantly transcending and including the self in pure awareness.

Weekly Check In: How’s your meditation practice coming along?
Friends, I want to be diligent on running a weekly check in with everyone’s meditation practice. These past two months I’ve been so busy, and feel I’ve been falling a bit short here on skool. It’s so important we use these resources wisely and continually help one another deepen our meditation practice. That being said, let’s check in as a community. How’s your practice coming along? What’s going well? What’s difficult? How would you like your practice to be? There’s no wrong answer here, and everything is welcome. Let us lift one another up. Please also feel welcome to join us this evening at 7pm cst for a meditation session. You can find it in our calendar. With warmth, Brandon

Unexpected Dissolving of Center
Since the mediation retreat on Sunday, I’ve been practicing doing open awareness before concentration in my sits. Increasing the effort/curiosity on the body is so much more interesting when done from an expansive viewpoint. This had an unexpected and delightfully trippy consequence today. I finished a set at the gym and while walking to get water… BAM!! —I was the entire room and hallway leading to the water. I was not doing any specific technique during my sets or being particularly mindful, it just happened out of nowhere. Sitting down to finish my lifting, I shall not reify the experience, but take it as a reminder that the center of self is none other than an idea.
