The titles are on the website. Here is context that may be helpful Friday: Forebearance and contentment based on what Sharada Devi, a spiritual teacher central to this tradition, taught. Here is a quote from her “there is no treasure equal to contentment and no virtue equal to fortitude”. Saturday: seeing the divine in all beings. References the Isha Upanishad an ancient nondual text. Here is a quote from it: “He who sees all beings in the Self and the Self in all beings, he never hates. When, to the knower, all beings have become the Self, what delusion, what sorrow can there be for one who sees oneness?" Sunday: “be the witness” - no need to explain in this group

Talk by a nun
A nun is visiting Austin and giving a spiritual talk on September 15 (Pravarajika Divyanandaprana). She is one of the most famous spiritual speakers online. The organizers are looking for a rough headcount to decide the venue. If you think you may attend, it would be great if you could indicate here: https://forms.gle/bF81VRTtvtFBf4L27
Tea, routine and meditation
For a couple of weeks, I’ve been drinking tea before meditation. A monk recommended it. He said unlike coffee, tea not only makes us awake, but also has Theanine which calms us down; coffee is for work and tea is for meditation. And practically, there does seem to be a big difference between coffee and tea. And it’s been doing wonders for my practice. The routine also helps. Making tea is a morning ritual. And my brain expects to meditate immediately afterwards. I have a specific spot in my apartment (created by moving my couch to make a little nook), some incense, my meditation cushion and specific clothes All this puts the mind in the mood Now, of course, we meditate to transform how we act in life, not just to keep it on the cushion. So it was recommended that after meditation, I stay in the mood for a little while. Read a book. Stay quiet while doing work etc. It’s been working for me

Oh great to hear coffee disrupts your meditation too! I used to try it and it never worked. Shows how powerfully and universally our minds are affected by these little things eh?

@Brandon Mehrgut I’ve grew up with Taj Mahal brand, so that’s what I drink. Apparently different black and green teas differ quite a bit. So I’m curious what yall find

Sounds fun!
How's your meditation practice coming along?
Today's practice for myself, went quite well. A very busy mind in the beginning but as always it cleared up. How was your practice today? I'd love to hear from some new voices. We have 151 members, and as I see it, that's 151 intentions to meditate. What's your intention for practice today and going into this weekend?

@Brandon Mehrgut it’s been fun! I’ve been exploring love/devotion these days during meditation. Very easy to get absorption that way
