Learn how to make an income from music
Hey everyone! Just got back from our studio event in NYC, as per usual it was a blast! Wanted to let you know that we're hosting our first ever virtual open day next Wednesday for our income generation and business program, The Profitable Engineer. We'll break down how the program works, and also share what's working right now when it comes to getting clients as a freelance engineer, producer, or composer. You've put blood, sweat, and tears into developing your craft. Now it's time to monetize it. If you want to make an income doing what you love - whether part-time or full-time - join us live and we'll show you how to make it happen. This event is designed for those who want to make an income in any area of the music industry - from freelance engineering and producing, to making music for ads, TV, films, games... or developing a career as a recording artist. It's happening next Wednesday, May 20th, at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST / 7pm CEST. Don't Be Fooled...
I'm new to this amazing community and already feel as though I've finally found an amazing family! I wanted to share a little about my situation if I may... We built a very high-end music production studio the beginning of this year. The investment was north of $50k! I am not sharing this to flex but to say, my thought in building this studio was "if I only had my dream studio, I could move mountains for my family and my career as a music producer". It turns out that, even though I am extremely grateful and humbled every time I get to come in here and work on projects, getting caught up in the idea that we can ONLY achieve our goals if we have this amazing thing or that amazing thing is very self-defeating and self-sabotaging! Although it is an awesome feeling being able to work with all the hardware and software this studio has to offer, I can say with absolute certainty that I deal more with overwhelm and frustration having too many choices that kill momentum and inspiration very quickly. A simple setup (laptop, headphones, interface, condenser mic, DAW) would've done just as much with MUCH less headache as having all the shiny new plugins and softwares etc. I just want to say, don't let the thought "if only I had ..." get between you and your goals. Don't be fooled by that idea that you need this thing or that thing to be great at what you do...I'm here to tell you, it's simply not at all true. You will be great at what you do because YOU decide what you have (and don't have) aren't going to determine your story, only what you choose to do now determines your story.
