To bounce or not to bounce?
I was just wondering people's preference when it comes to mixing. Do you bounce out the stems to mix in a clean session, or do you produce, mix and master all in the same session. I keep getting confused as to my plugin chains because of this. Like if I've already put several plugins during production/pre mixing, then should I bounce everything and mix it over before mastering, or should I just go straight on to master as it is?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, maybe I'm over thinking things. I believe I have produced and almost mixed a pretty good sounding track and don't know where to go from here.
Produce, mix and master in the same session.
Produce/pre mix, bounce into new track, mix and master.
Both depending on specific things.
