Powered monitors and transient surge
My powered monitors are usually on, also when the preamp is not. Now, when I turn the preamp on, a transient surge or DC offset causes an unpleasant and possibly harmful thump.
What is your preferred solution to the problem? Mute circuit, DC-blocking capacitor maybe?
Power-up sequencing is not a solution - if it was, the whole problem wouldn't exist :)
