Mixing Question
I mostly produce and mix rap music (Boom Bap). I am having a hard time deciding when to add my drum brakes to my mixes. I usually layer my drum brakes. I add (layer) kicks and snares for a punchier sound. My question is: should I gain stage my drum brake to 5 dbf and 0 Vu or should I add the drum brake after I gain stage to 5 dbf an 0 Vu my layer kick and snares.
