Smooth Yellow Watercolor Paint
That's what I'll be making later this week from the pigment we washed and dried in the previous videos. I'll probably get the video for it uploaded by Friday evening. After that one, I'll make a video on making oil paint from the rest of the washed pigment I have from the washing/drying. I have some brown that I'd washed, too and will use it for the oil paint as well. Once the oil paints are made, that's the end of the Paint-Making course! I'll make a project course on using driftwood and acorn caps to make a decorative desktop palette to hold your paints after that. Anyone who has taken the paint-making course will get a free ticket to the decorative palette course. P.S. If you have any friends who you think would like to join our community please invite them!

Welcome to our community! If you want, please post an introduction, Gretchen. I'm happy you found me from one of my books and made your way here 😍 Eventually I will add some medicinal herb foraging and ginseng habitat locating/rehabbing videos here, too.
Didn't want to this morning
I slept late and didn't feel like doing my walk, but I did it anyway. These videos, and by extension anyone who watches them, are like having an accountability partner. So thank you :) Video is uploading to YouTube now and will be in the Classroom soon on the 3rd page of the Course "Morning Mile". On my way back this time, I stopped to look at chickweed, a fossil, some rocks, and clay. Oh, and some dried flowers that would be something I'd have collected if I were making some Forest Folk or Fairy Swings. I might go back to get those later, but I still have a bunch of dried flowers and weeds from when I was making them before. Once I get those projects underway, I'll post videos of foraging for the materials in the class.

New - Morning Mile Club
Artists can often find themselves not getting enough exercise. I'm totally guilty of that, but I am trying to get back into shape and figured I'd share that with y'all, too. I started a new course here called Morning Mile Club, and it's free. All it will be is my recording of my attempt to work back up to the 2 mile mark in my morning walk/jogs. It's also full of nature, because where I live is pretty wild. The walk to the mailbox and back is a mile. If I can make it to the top of the big hill after the first bridge beyond the mailbox - that's 2 miles once I'm back at the house. This walk is a workout all contained within itself. First, the hills. Going downhill feels much easier, but there are rocks to contend with, so it exercises balance. Creeks to cross when the water is there. More balance. I like to slow jog down and then walk back up. When I'm on the way back, that's when I stop to take pictures of things that caught my eye as I was jogging downhill. So lots of squats getting close to the ground. More good exercise. Anyway, excuse the mess of our homestead - there's an old house that needs to be torn down and my hen house and fences all need repair. It's on my to-do list, but other things keep getting placed ahead of them on the priority list. If you have or start an outdoor exercise routine of some sort in nature, feel free to post your angst, thrills, progress, or experiences in this category of the discussion group! If you enjoy seeing my views here, let me know! You'll probably get to hear me huffing a puffing a lot in these videos. Not gonna lie, I'm going to need a lot of time to get to that 2-mile mark.
From Rock to Art
I wrote an article for my blog to give an overview of the entire journey of a rock to a painting: https://www.wildozark.com/rock-to-art/ Do any of you have websites? I'd be happy to follow you there if so. I think I do already follow most of you on socials, but if I'm not and you know it, let me know and I'll follow :) I've been trying to lean more towards my website and less into the social medias, but it's not easy.
