Today's To-Do list
So, my daily activities are probably not normal. I'm curious what other people do who don't work, work at home or are retired, so share your list! Here's what is on my list for today (will probably stretch for the week): - feed horses/chickens, see how far towards a mile I can go - check on salamander eggs - strain the turkey tail tincture and set the water decoction on the marc going - clean the bathrooms, fold clothes, sweep mud room - work on my article for NANPS about Cunila oreganoides (American dittany) - work on accompanying drawings for the article - make blog post (I'll probably use this post here to make the blog post) - make oil paint from bone and soot pigments (I need them for my owl painting, and want to see side-by-side comparison of the two) - get my shed painting out and covered to bring with when we go to town tomorrow - I need to drop it off to be scanned - withdraw shed painting from one exhibition bc I forgot I had entered it into another 😶 - work on sign layout using new graphic I used ChatGPT to design for my broker - put together a video of clips to promote this skool class on YouTube and entice new members - start getting my supplies and materials organized for April live paint-making class, order anything missing

@Allyssa Riley it would be like eating cardboard. They're not tender and don't tenderize when cooking. And your body wouldn't be able to release the constituents that lend them medicinal value if you only ate them. From what I've read, no mushroom should be eaten without cooking them, but with these it just doesn't help anyway.

Thanks for sharing that about the cooking them, Cathy. I take a capsule of a mix of mushrooms daily and it does seem to help with chronic tendonitis on the top of my right foot. It does take a while to see effects on it for me, though, but when I quit taking them, I notice when it wears off.
Made it back
After several days of no walking or jogging other than my usual around the house to feed critters and such, I made it back out there this morning. My camera quit recording twice so the video is shorter than it would be otherwise.

@Skye Burditt yay! I’m glad to get back on track 😁
Zoom on Request and Cedar Waxwings
If any of you ever need to have a Zoom meeting to discuss anything, just let me know and if I'm able I'll be happy to do so (unless the group grows tremendously, and in that case it won't be so easy, lol). In the meantime, I'll keep trying to hold to the weekly schedule but that may be more difficult through summer when I have weekend art events, so the days/times or frequency of the schedule may change. Today it was just simple family life conflict that cause me to cancel. A flock of cedar waxwing birds arrived yesterday to eat the leftover hackberries and elm buds and flowers. The video doesn't show an individual bird clearly, but it gives some idea of how they sound and act in the treetops.

Sorry guys, I won’t be able to make the zoom meeting today. I’ll be back next weekend!

How it looks here this morning
This is the bridge nearest our driveway. Obviously won't be crossing it today, lol. From our driveway to the pavement is 6 miles, and there are 4 low-water bridges like this to cross. We never see the others when it's flooding like this, because it would mean crossing this one to see them, lol.

One is now a 'culvert' and not a low-water bridge anymore, and the tall one isn't low-water ;) I'm only counting the actual concrete bridges meant for water to flow over. But yes, 6 bridges total and ALL of them flood when there's been enough rain, even that really high one!
