Lesson from Tiny Habits by BJ Fogg:
“Lower the bar, raise the consistency.”
One of the most powerful lessons in Tiny Habits is that lasting change doesn’t come from motivation—it comes from making behaviors incredibly easy. Most people fail because they aim too big: long workouts, strict routines, or drastic lifestyle changes. BJ Fogg explains that when a habit feels small and doable, your brain stops resisting it.
Instead of committing to reading 30 pages a day, start with one page. Instead of planning a 30-minute workout, begin with two pushups. These tiny actions may seem insignificant, but they build something far more important than intensity: consistency.
Another key idea is celebration. Fogg emphasizes that celebrating immediately after completing a tiny habit wires it into your brain. A smile, a small “yes!”, or self-acknowledgment tells your brain, this behavior matters, making it more likely to stick.
