Looking for some input and real-world experience on cooling setups and mounting solutions for my OBS LS swap.
Originally this was supposed to be a “budget build”… but as everyone else and know me knows that ship has sailed 😂. So now I’m just trying to make smart decisions without lighting any more money on fire.
I’m planning to step up from the 28” to a 34” radiator—leaning toward a stock-style GMT400 HD or possibly a GMT800 setup with matching fans/shroud. Trying to figure out what actually works best vs. what just sounds good on paper.
For trans cooling, I’ve already got a Tru-Cool 40k with braided lines and AN fittings on the way, so that part should be handled.
A few things I’d appreciate some feedback on:
- Best radiator/fan combo for the 34” swap (OEM vs aluminum)
- Clean mounting solutions for the bigger radiator
- Any gotchas going from 28” to 34”
- OEM fans vs. After market.
- Fuel system setup (line size, routing, hard line vs AN, regulator/filter setups, etc.)
Goal is a solid, reliable setup that stays cool—without overspending again.
Appreciate any advice.
