I didn’t know there was a basketball court at this campground. But I always keep a ball in my car… just in case.
So when I found it, I threw on my Vans and got to work.
Obviously, I wasn’t about to go crazy in Vans 😂, so I focused on what I could do — form shooting, footwork, and getting quality reps in.
Because that’s really what it’s about.
A lot of people go on vacation, take trips, or take weeks off from the game. And there’s nothing wrong with taking a break. But for me, and for anyone who truly wants to reach the next level, the work doesn’t always stop just because the circumstances change.
You have to love more than just the game.
You have to love the grind.
I don’t care if all you have is a basketball and a concrete slab.
I don’t care if you’re shooting at a hoop surrounded by grass.
I don’t care if you don’t have a hoop at all and all you can do is work on your defensive slides, ball handling, footwork, or visualization.
Find something. Do something. Get better at something.
Because the goal isn’t to have perfect conditions.
The goal is to become the kind of player who can find a way anytime, anywhere.
The gym won’t always be there. The perfect court won’t always be there. The perfect circumstances definitely won’t always be there.
But the commitment can be.
Anytime. Anywhere. Find a way. 🏀
