Yuan Dynasty blue-and-white porcelain😍🎉✨

I would like to share an exceptionally rare porcelain I recently saw at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.😃 It is believed that only about 10 porcelains featuring narrative character scenes exist worldwide today, and most of them are not on public display!!!

Yuan dynasty porcelain with cobalt, known as Yuan blue-and-white (青花瓷), marked a pivotal moment in Chinese ceramics, using imported Persian cobalt to create vibrant underglaze blue designs on high-fired white porcelain, establishing the iconic style for later generations, characterized by bold motifs, large shapes for export, and distinctive "heaped and piled" effects from iron-rich cobalt.

Yuan dynasty porcelain with cobalt blue narrative character scenes is exceptionally rare due to a confluence of factors related to production constraints, the intended market, historical turmoil, and collecting trends.
