VOCAB QUIZ #9.2
As promised, here are the other (older) definitions of “OUT OF POCKET”
Version 2: "Out of pocket” also describes someone as UNAVAILABLE or UNREACHABLE by phone, text, etc. It's commonly used at work or in professional messages. (Example: “I’ll be out of pocket until Thursday.”)
Version 3 (the MOST common): When talking about money, a person who is paying OUT OF POCKET is making a payment with their own money. (Example: We paid for the repairs out of pocket.)
