How I Built a $5/mo n8n + ChatGPT Inbox Assistant
Hi all—I’ve been struggling with keeping up with cold email replies and I know a lot of people here have been too.
I spent some time working through it last week, and here’s a simple way I solved it for less than $5/m (n8n self-hosting costs😅):
- Do an IMAP “New Mail” trigger in n8n.
- Ask ChatGPT “Is this a lead?” to filter out non-leads.
- If it is, use the built-in Gmail node to fetch the full message.
- Send it back to ChatGPT: “Write a customized reply for this lead.”
- Have n8n post that draft directly as an email reply.
