A few years back, I had an interesting coaching call.
My client was trying to build a business helping "modern-day mystics."
You know... coaches, energy practitioners, Reiki masters, tarot readers.
The whole spiel.
She was teaching them about manifestation, energy work, and living in "love and light."
Only one problem...
When I asked about her results...
It was a mixed bag.
See, people in her market learned all these spiritual techniques...
Got excited about uncovering "the truth" about who they are...
Started doing readings...
And really felt like they'd figured out life.
But nothing was ACTUALLY changing in their life.
On the other hand…
She also mentioned how she'd helped two women going through divorce.
And these clients got REAL results.
But she was resistant to that market.
So went over the pros and cons together…
Because someone going through divorce has a VERY specific pain point.
It's clear.
It's urgent.
It's measurable.
Where there is the most pain... that's where you'll find the most solution.
But teaching "spiritual manifestation?"
How do you even measure that?
When do you know it's working?
What's the specific before and after?
I’m not saying it can’t be done.
But the reality is some transformations are harder to sell than others.
Your market needs to hook onto something REAL.
Something they can understand.
Something that shows them you actually "get" their problem.
And sometimes the best niche isn't the one you WANT...
It's the one staring you right in the face.
The one where you're already getting results.
Funny thing is…
Once you help someone through something concrete like divorce...
THEN they're ready for the spiritual work.
But trying to do it the other way around?
That's a much harder path.
