ICE COLD!
I've been in the program since early '24 but let my progress in the program slide.
Now I'm back! And better than ever!
Here's a little story about slow progress, learning and growth!
This time last year I was wondering how I might ever complete a cold plunge, two weeks later I was lying in a bathing suit in a snow bank in -18 weather.
Throughout the year I took multiple quick visits to the cold room at my local spa (it's not really super cold in there unfortunately).
January 1st of this year I did the polar plunge in lake Ontario!
Since then I've learned that cold water dips of 30 seconds or more increase your dopamine levels by 2.5x so of course I've leaned on that when I need a littel extra get up and go!
Try it! Put on a song that gets you excited (I like "Ante up" by M.O.P.), set a timer and bump that shower dial to as cold as possible! I've been able to hit restart on my day after completing this process and always feel amazing!
I wanted something, decided to try it, learned more about it, and tried it again! And now I can say I've implemented it as a tool in my mental health kit.
