How dreams come true
Here’s a quick story that'll make you think differently about "impossible" dreams...
I have a friend who went to a private school in the UK.
And there was this guy in his class...
Just another student with a pretty ambitious dream:
He wanted to be an actor.
My friend (probably thinking he was being "realistic") told him:
"The chances of making it as an actor are just too low."
Classic dream-crushing moment, right?
20 years pass...
Then one day, my friend gets this random text:
"Just a heads up… remember when you said I'd never make it as an actor?"
My friend replies, asking how he's been.
The response?
"Oh yeah, I'm the new Superman."
It was Henry Cavill.
He even invited my friend to the premiere...
The point is:
As coaches, we meet people with "unrealistic" dreams all the time.
And it's tempting to be the voice of "reason."
To protect them from disappointment.
To lower their expectations.
But who are we to decide what's possible?
In a world where a "typical student" can become Superman...
Maybe our job isn't to predict the future.
Maybe it's to help people believe in possibilities they can't see yet.
To show them that "unrealistic" is just someone else's opinion.
Because sometimes...
The most unrealistic dreams are exactly the ones that come true.
So, I’m curious…
Do you have any “impossible” dreams?
I’d love to hear from you 😍
