I am fully responsible for everything in my life.
The reframe that I made this afternoon created a permanent transformation in my mind.
We are invested in our clients and their progress.
It hurts when they stumble and take a step back.
We worry that we haven't done enough and that we've failed as coaches.
But wouldn't you want them to stumble now, whilst you're there to support them?
If they couldn't stay accountable to their tasking, it's probably because of a very strong belief or circumstance.
If it didn't happen during your coaching sessions, it probably would've come up at some point down the line.
But at that point, they wouldn't have your support.
So you actually want them to fail as much as possible, so you can take those learnings and equip them to avoid those pitfalls when they are out there by themselves.
The challenges they face are what drives the honing of their skills and their beliefs.
Failure is necessary for success, so we shouldn't feel upset when our clients take a step backward.
We need to leave our desires at the door and help our clients to find the learning lessons.
We can do it, and become great coaches.
Much love,
Jeevan
