The Saudi television network Al-Arabiya, citing Yemeni media sources, reported that the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) has notified all its employees in Sana'a and other Houthi-controlled areas that their employment contracts will be terminated effective March 31
The UN is taking this step following a similar move by the World Food Programme (WFP) in late January, amid the escalation of Houthi activities against UN personnel. It was further reported that the Houthis are still holding 73 UN employees hostage, including approximately 50 workers from the WFP and the UNDSS
