Frank Sinatra flew to Tehran
In November 1975, Frank Sinatra flew to Tehran with an orchestra of 35 musicians.
He performed a private show for the Shah and Empress Farah, then took the stage at Aryamehr Stadium (now Azadi) for ~24,000 people in a benefit concert for the blind.
Classics like “My Way,” “That’s Life,” and “Fly Me to the Moon.”
Just four years before the mullahs destroyed that Iran.
A different country. A different world.
