“Sleep to dream”
This is a drawing that I did today and lately I’ve been thinking a lot about sleep and resting and when it feels like to have dreams I don’t remember, but I can feel the essence of it. I’m exhausted but I still wanna make art every day. Super thankful for that.

Cooking by the fire
Charcoal drawing Charcoal, pan pastel, white pastel pencil It’s in the Sahara desert in Morocco. A nomad cook lit the fire and starts to peel the potatoes for dinner. The night is falling, but the fire is warming the air… After a long day it’s time to unwind and enjoy the peace in the darkness of the desert. The night camp scene is one of my most favorite subject matter, I love the monochrome charcoal drawing that to me the best way to depict the serenity of the desert.
Cooking by the fire
My favorite subject matter
Hello everyone. Are you enjoying painting/drawing? Here is my latest YouTube post of the process of the charcoal drawing. The actual drawing time is approx. 20 minutes. This drawing of a nomad man in white chech (head scarf) is my signature subject matter that I have been doing over the last two and half years. Drawing the portrait of the nomad origin people in the Sahara desert gives me peace and freedom to my soul, as it associates the mental perspective. Let me see your work of your favorite subject☺️ Have a wonderful week! Midori https://youtube.com/shorts/YkioObRi9bM?si=jZCVUiO8fnuP3B4d
Introduction
Hi 👋 I'm a local new Zealand artist that lives at almost the bottom of the world (southland). I mainly work with acrylic on canvas but dabble in other mediums. I prefer to create surrealism art that tells a story especially from personal experiences and trauma as a form of therapy. Also I love expressing myself with weird and wacky art (not the norm... especially where I'm from in invercargill). I also do a lot of realism and hyper realism portraits that I enjoy since I'm really good at faces due to my photographic memory! Just looking for anyone out there that uses surrealism art to tell their own personal stories and struggles as a way of therapy like myself. Also just generally like minded people within the Surrealism style of art and maybe to learn from my own practice aswell (vice versa) Ps: can someone please tell me how to become a full-time artist and have your work wanted and seen!!! I feel like I'm failing, at the one thing I wanna be in life! https://share.google/9KQdf3V3nW9lhi2Ds Also feel free to look at my work and your thoughts below !
