Resilience to the Max!
We made it halfway around the globe from 34 degrees in Brisbane to -2 degrees in Toronto Canada. The journey tested my resilience and pain levels but my amazing team did the impossible. Our flight from Brisbane was delayed by eight hours, then we boarded with thunder and lightning surrounding us. We sat on the tarmac for two hours. We landed at Vancouver expecting to miss our connecting flight, but we had heard our flight was boarding and one of my team ran to stop the plane. We made it by five minutes and landed in Toronto at 1:30am. With the hire car place closing at 2am Steve ran ahead and just made it in time. We arrived at our accomodation at 4:30am jubilant but we did it. Rugged up now and checking out Christmas trees everywhere in the city. I’m very grateful for my life.

Sometimes it Takes Many People to Achieve Small Things.
So many people help me when I’m flying. To get to my seat on the plane my care team transfers me to an aisle wheelchair which then takes me down the plane. Then my team transfers me to the seat. We got to Vegas via Vancouver Canada. The whole Air Canada team were marvellous, helping us as needed. I’m so grateful for everyone helping me to achieve my purpose.

Not every appointment is Rehab!
Not every appointment is for my rehab. I go to the hairdressers thanks to my amazing team who have to hold my head up and transfer me to the basin. I feel like a normal person doing normal things. Thanks to them, no grey hair for this chick. YAY

A Great Team is one of the Keys to Resilience
People ask me how I get to travel overseas in my condition. First you need a great team to help, and boy I’m so grateful for each of my support crew. Here we are heading to a conference and seeing friends in Las Vegas, so cool!

Breathing is Crucial!
Every week I do focused breathing work with my awesome friend @Di DallOglio, who is Pilates Guru. With the help of my carers I do deep breathing and move my arms, body and diaphragm in controlled movements. This has been very helpful to my focus, lung function and general breathing. All done via zoom. Thanks Di for everything you you do for me. Have you noticed how your breathing is today?
