Your goal today is to move beyond short, correct answers and learn how to: state your main idea explain your reason add a specific example connect the idea to a bigger result invite the other person to continue 🔥 Opening Output Challenge Answer this question aloud: What is one thing you have done recently to improve your English? Round 1: Short Answer Speak for approximately 15 seconds. “Recently, I have been practicing my pronunciation. I want to speak more clearly and confidently.” Round 2: Expanded Answer Now speak for 45–60 seconds. Try to include: What you have been practicing Why it is important A specific example A result you have noticed Your next step Do not write your complete answer first. Organize your ideas—and speak. Speak now. Fix later. 🧠 Today’s Key Skill: From B1 to B2 A B1 speaker can usually express an understandable idea. A B2 speaker can develop, connect, and support that idea. Compare these answers: B1 Answer “I practice English every day because I want to improve my speaking.” This answer is clear and correct—but it ends quickly. Developing B2 Answer “I try to practice English every day because I want to become a more confident speaker. For example, I record myself answering a different question each morning. When I listen to the recording, I can usually identify one pronunciation problem or one place where my idea was unclear. This practice has helped me become more aware of how I speak, and my next goal is to answer questions more naturally without preparing everything in advance.”
