DAY 3: The Spirit of Apathy & Laziness
“The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.” — Proverbs 13:4
It’s not just “kids being kids.”
That constant dragging of feet, the refusal to help, the low-effort in school, the “I don’t care” attitude…
It’s not just immaturity. It’s a spirit of apathy… and it’s choking out purpose.
This spirit will have your child:
  • Zoning out during prayer.
  • “Forgetting” every chore.
  • Living on autopilot — scrolling, gaming, isolating.
  • Giving 20% and expecting 100% reward.
  • Ignoring their call, their gifts, their responsibilities… with zero conviction.
But here’s the real danger: apathy numbs spiritual sensitivity.
It doesn’t just make them lazy.. it makes them indifferent to the voice of God.
And that’s exactly what the enemy wants.
If he can’t get them rebellious, he’ll try to make them unbothered.
Checked out. Disengaged. Emotionally shut down. Spiritually dull.
But Kingdom kids are not called to be idle they’re called to be arrows.
They were born for impact.
And your job as a parent is to wake them up not just with reminders and routines, but with warfare.
Today, we renounce the spirit of laziness, passivity, and numbness.
We call their spirit back to life.
We declare that they will not sleep through their purpose they will rise in it.
WARFARE PRAYER:
Father, in the name of Jesus, I lift up my child before You.
I speak to every place in their soul that has grown lazy, dull, or indifferent.
I break the spirit of apathy the spirit that causes them to disengage, withdraw, and neglect their responsibilities and calling.
I repent for any area where I’ve allowed passivity to go unchecked.
Where I’ve accepted low effort or failed to set the tone for diligence and excellence.
I bind the spirit of laziness, slothfulness, and disengagement.
I cancel every generational mindset of “doing just enough” and barely getting by.
And I loose the spirit of diligence, excellence, responsibility, and hunger for truth.
I declare that my child will walk with discipline.
They will care. They will move. They will respond to the voice of God.
Let the fire of purpose be reignited in their heart.
Let vision and clarity replace apathy and distraction.
In Jesus’ name Amen
