Stick With It!

For you youngsters, even if you are not on a team, but want to kick or punt in Middle School or High School, "Stick With It!" Here is how I started kicking a football in 1973. FORD used to sponsor "Punt, Pass & Kick" competitions around the country. My local one in Milwaukee was my first kicking competition. It stated with a little PP&K pamphlet, featuring the then Baltimore Colts kicker, Tony Linhart. He was an Austian born professional soccer player. I read and studied that little pamphlet and went to the park close to my house that had goal posts. I practiced and practiced by myself, and found out that I had a skill that not everyone had. I stuck with it for years, kicked and punted in high school and college! But in the back of my mind, I can still picture that little pamphlet, featuring the Colts #2, Tony Linhart! - Coach Jim
