The Small Town Project is a community-driven initiative bringing fitness classes and health-focused programmes to rural areas across Galway. We currently operate in 7 towns and support over 150 active members, with a strong focus on accessibility, community, and long-term health.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking to bring on a Group Fitness Instructor to help expand into new areas, deliver classes in existing locations, and support our online coaching clients.
The Role
This is a part-time position with the potential to grow into a full-time role.
You’ll be responsible for:
Coaching group fitness classes in community halls across Galway
Supporting expansion into new towns and locations
Assisting with coaching online clients working towards weight loss and fitness goals
Creating a positive, welcoming, and motivating environment for all ability levels
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is:
High energy and confident coaching groups
Genuinely passionate about helping people succeed
Open to learning, feedback, and growing as a coach
Comfortable working mostly evenings
Reliable, organised, and professional
Experience teaching group fitness is desirable but not essential.
Full support and onboarding will be provided for the right person.
Requirements
Availability for 3–5 hours per day, with a minimum of 16 hours per week
Mostly evening availability
Access to a car and willingness to travel locally
Interest in fitness, coaching, and community-based work
