🥯SD Bagel Bake-Along! is happening in 3 days
Hi! 👋🏻
I’m a weekend baker of all things sourdough. I’m here to learn more so I can make the best bread possible for my family. I love making focaccia, bagels, and all the random things sourdough offers! But my goal this year is to nail down a basic artisan loaf - my arch nemesis 😩 I can’t wait to share my wins & fails with you all along the way!
My introduction
Hello All, By day I'm a civil engineer and by night I'm an avid cook and baker. I love to create great food for my family, friends and coworkers. I recently started my sourdough journey in October after years of being intimidated by the process. So far I have not baked a loaf of bread but I've made quite a few things with my discard. I've made brownies, coffee cake, crackers, waffles, etc. I'm here to learn from everyone and to gain some new recipes for my arsenal.

Hey friend!👋 My name is Samantha Mayers, and I'm thrilled to be part of this space with you! I run an organic sourdough cottage bakery right from my home here in Louisiana, and honestly? This whole sourdough thing has been such a journey! But let me tell you a little about myself and how I even got started with all of this... ⚪️Transparency Moment... I have this unhealthy habit of scrolling through Facebook reels when I seemingly have nothing else to do🤣 Be reel, right? Reels after reels about sourdough started popping up on my feed daily! Before this, I had been on a learning journey for years trying to discover the foods and ways of life that are truly healthy and life-giving to our bodies! I wanted to source healthy things for my family and I. But in all honesty I did NOT want to start sourdough! I heard and read about how good sourdough bread could be for your health, especially when compared to our store-bought, overly processed breads here in the states! BUT from what I saw in those Facebook reels, it simply looked like wayyy too much work than what I was willing to put into it😅 Fast-forward a few months later in March of 2024, I bought the jars and flour I needed and started my sourdough journey! It was like a flick of a light switch!💡 One day I wanted nothing to do with it. The next I'm mixing flour and water together with hardly any clue what I was doing or how any of it works, LOL! ❔️Maybe that's where you are? Overwhelmed with all of the information being thrown at you? All the different methods that say, "this is the ONLY way." A simple google search🔎 isn't very helpful considering you get so many different answers with no clarity! That's exactly why I'm so passionate about helping others understand the ✨️why✨️ behind sourdough! Once you get the why, everything else starts to click. You stop second-guessing yourself and start trusting what you see in your dough! I love connecting with fellow bakers — whether you're just starting out, you've tried before with little success, or you've been baking for years and want to refine your process! This community is for all of us to learn, grow, and encourage each other🍞

Introducing Myself
I’m a bread lover. Now I have been baking most of my life but have been learning sourdough for a couple of years now. I am United Methodist Clergy and I live with my shitzu Cashew. That being said, I can’t possibly eat all my bakes myself so I give most away to the local community center, neighbors and I bring goodies to our church study groups. I love to learn new things and try to generally raise my baking knowledge and standards. Thanks for having me in this group!
Henry here. 40k bakers on Facebook, sourdough obsessed, tool builder.
Hey Crumb Table! 👋 I'm Henry. I run Baking Great Bread at Home on Facebook, a community of about 50,000 home bakers. Sourdough is my thing. Has been for years. I found Skool because I wanted something different. Facebook is great for reach but terrible for depth. Things move too fast. Good conversations get buried. I wanted a place where people actually learn together, not just scroll past each other. What I'm about: I believe perfection is not required. I've seen too many people quit because their first loaf wasn't Instagram-worthy. That's not what this is about. It's about getting your hands in dough, learning from your mistakes, and baking bread that feeds people. What I'm building: I've been creating digital tools for home bakers: - Interactive Recipe Pantry — Recipes with built-in timers, clickable definitions, and progress tracking. No more losing your place mid-bake. Free at - Crust & Crumb App — An intelligent, interactive baking assistant for recipe conversion and troubleshooting - I also just launched Crust & Crumb Academy here on Skool if anyone wants to check it out: But mostly I'm here to talk bread, see what everyone's baking, and learn something new. What's on your table this week?
